The
Schroud: I have to admit it wasn't difficult.
The drilling was easy because the shroud is made of aluminum. I believe
one could use a good hand drill with the help of a vise to get the same
results as a drill press. Just take it slow.
One might have a problem finding a 1/2" (hand) drill chuck for the
11/16" drill bit. I've never looked into it because I have a table top
drill press.
I had to do a little grinding to make the first hole easlier to slide
on. I was afraid it might be too tight and damage the shroud while
tapping it on the barrel. The second hole was tight, but slipped on on
with a few good taps.
The duracoat was no problem, just be sure to follow the instructions to
the letter. BTW, the barrel shroud can be purchased via Ebay.
Telestock Butt Pad: I
cut off the bottom half (the triangle w/rubber pad)and modified an
aluminum paint ball telestock butt to fit the upper half of the MT
CCU's telestock butt.
The Sling Adapter: I
removed the telestock assembly thinking I'd have some retro-fitting to
do, but it slipped into place perfectly. The end of the main screw that
holds the telestock assembly together fits flush versus before the
install. It's almost as though the Mech Tech boys designed the CCU to
accommodate a Single Point Sling.
The vertical foregrip
is the KZ Foregrip w/ Ambidextrous Rail from Botach. They were supposed
to send the one without the rail, but rather than sending it back I
just kept it. I had planned on using the quad rail for the
laser/flashlight. It's an aluminum grip with storage. The cap screws
on. Nice fit.
